Coheed and Cambria ( Shabütie )

Co and Ca (Coheed and Cambria)

Co and Ca (Coheed and Cambria) was formerly known as Shabütie viewed as a progressive rock but later on labeled to be the "emo" type,  Current members include Claudio Sanchez the Vocalist, Travis Stever on Lead Guitars, Michael Todd on the Base and Chris Pennie on Drums. Based from the previous to their recent album release they are kind of a combination of a progressive-rock style and the emo tradition ( they have songs that are sentimental in a sense), but they kick ass in their songs, They are influenced by a lot of classic rock legends with a touch of punk rock considering their music arrangements and their type of songs. They played music in a wide range of genres from punk rock, indie rock, acoustic rock, funk, and heavy metal.

All these years and album release, Co & Ca showed their skills in the art of music, they created a transition of different types and genres and made it something different, something they can call their own and perhaps you can expect that from them considering the types of music they were inspired from like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Police, Misfits and Queen.

I personally like their guitar leads and how the rhythms ,drum and base line flows with their song, their arrangement gives you the feeling of excitement, like those classical sonatas, a music which gives of a lot of feelings, along with its strong (sometimes puzzling) lyrics though they do hit you sometimes. I like the vocalist voice to kind of a sweet but tough ( sounds like a screaming little girl, heheh) but it rocks hard makes them unique in a sense, I especially like the song "welcome home" , the beat sounds like the theme song from tetris, but i think this what makes the song cool, a combination of classical tunes using the present arrangements, very catchy makes you wanna bang your head hard, and maybe that's why i kinda of like them they make music and not genres, they are too unpredictable  and maybe why you can't  place them in a certain genre. That's why they are labeled more as progressive rock,  since they progress to a different kind of music.

Though you really can't help but notice bands lead singer, the look is just way to distracting, the voice just doesn't suit up the image, but it sure is amazing watch him sing with that voice, making him a new icon for a progressive rock music. His dreads( i dont know what that hairstyle is called, d*m*), it is somewhat mesmerizing in a sense since you can usually hear people with dreads sing reggae song, but it this case still does look very cool for him. In a sense maybe this is whats this bands trademark is; that creepy hairdo, I don't have that much fashion sense that why I paid too much attention to their hairstyle considering that their music is what defines them and places them to be one of the great bands ( Sorry.. :) ).

I specially like the Good Apollo album with the songs "Wake Up" and "Welcome Home", though they were kind of sentimental/mellow but the music they showed is simply amazing,  in a sense maybe that's what they are trying to show to their fans their diverse style in music they can blend and adopt to the trend, and since it is the "emo-type" perhaps they were trying to blend in that type to their style of music (just a thought) but you have to admit they were more with the classic rock types especially the "welcome home", where described by John A. Hanson as influenced by Led Zeplin, so that definitely falls as metal.

As of the moment they are going on tour in support for "Heaven and Hell" this 2009 and in process of creating their 5th album. as of the moment they have4 Studio albums , 4 Live albums , 4 Extended plays, 8 Singles, 2 Video albums, 12 Music videos.
